At Pennard Vets, we’ve always prided ourselves on going beyond the ordinary. However, until now, we’ve had to refer many cases for specialist care outside our hospital. This meant delays, extra stress for pet owners, and often added complexity for the referring vet teams.
We are thrilled to announce that this is about to change. Thanks to our exciting new partnership with South East Veterinary Referrals (SEVR), we are expanding our services and capabilities to offer specialist neurological care at our Sevenoaks Hospital!
What Is South East Veterinary Referrals?
South East Veterinary Referrals (SEVR) is a new specialist service focusing on veterinary neurology, headed by internationally renowned neurologist Dr. Rodolfo Cappello. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Cappello brings extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating neurological conditions in pets. But just as vital to SEVR’s success is our dedicated neurology nurse, Katie Tanner.
What Services Will SEVR Offer at Pennard Vets?
With SEVR now integrated into our Sevenoaks Hospital, we can offer advanced neurological care without the need to refer clients elsewhere. Initially, SEVR will focus on treating neurological conditions such as:
- Seizures
- Difficulty walking or balance issues
- Brain and spinal cord injuries
- Neuromuscular diseases and peripheral nervous system problems
Dr. Cappello will provide a range of treatments, from routine spinal surgeries to complex brain interventions with Katie supporting and nursing those patients. Our aim is to deliver specialised care in a familiar, supportive environment for both pets and their owners.
