We are looking for a new experienced Management Accountant to join our finance team who is detail oriented with strong financial and analytical skills. The position is based at our new site in Sevenoaks having recently moved out of the site in which we were for over 130 years.

As the Management Accountant at Pennard Vets you will be responsible for monthly accounts production as well as financial analysis and budgeting. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for accurate and timely reporting and collaborate closely with the small finance team as well as the wider business.  This role is a great opportunity for an individual who carries a passion for their work in finance and a drive to thrive in an Employee Owned environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports
  • Monitor and analyse budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
  • Develop financial models and forecasts, providing insights into future financial performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business planning and decision-making processes
  • Evaluate and suggest cost reduction strategies to drive operational efficiencies
  • Conduct profitability analysis, identifying opportunities to improve profitability
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders

Candidate Requirements

  • Professional qualification such as ACA or CIMA is preferred
  • Extensive experience in management accounting or related roles
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices
  • Proficient in financial modelling and analysis techniques
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial software
  • Excellent analytical, data interpretation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Location: Sevenoaks
Working hours: Monday – Friday (40 Hours per week)
